EVERGREY: Third Video Report From Recording Studio Posted Online
October 31, 2007Swedish metallers EVERGREY have posted the third video studio report from the recording sessions for their new album. Watch the six-minute clip below.
Commented EVERGREY frontman Tom S. Englund: "We started a new week of recording and it's all shaping up nicely! Really great.
"I recorded guitars for four songs now and Henrik [Danhage; guitar] and Jonas [Ekdahl; drums] have been tracking. Jonas has also started to rehearse a new song that we will record next week. Jari [Kainulainen; bass] went home to Norway and will be back a week before our next gigs in Sweden and Israel so in between those we will lay down the last of his basses on four-five songs.
"Rikard [Zander; keyboards] was here yesterday copying all the songs unto his hard drive so that he can sit at home rehearsing before it's his turn.
"After next Wednesday, we will take a break from the recording and go into writing/composing mode again for a couple of weeks and I think we will bring the camera into those situations as well. I will record some vocals in my home studio as that's where I feel the most comfortable and can create undisturbed.
"Henrik came up with some really great ideas the other day for a new song that will be awesome, I'm sure. I have to dig deeper into the lyrics and vocal lines for a couple of days as well, something I do best by myself.
"So there's A LOT going on."
As previously reported, EVERGREY is documenting the recording process for the follow-up to 2006's "Monday Morning Apocalypse" for a forthcoming DVD, to be released sometime next year. According to the band, the final result will be "an in-depth look on how the whole recording went, with all the fuck-ups, conversations etc. It's not going to be [EVERGREY's version of the METALLICA documentary] 'Some Kind of Monster' since we dont have the fundings, but nevertheless."
EVERGREY recently announced the addition of former STRATOVARIUS bassist Jari Kainulainen to the group's ranks. Jari made his live debut with the band at Fosen Rock festival in Fosen, Norway on August 25.
EVERGREY is currently seeking a new label home after splitting with Inside Out Music following the release of "Monday Morning Apocalypse".
A video interview with EVERGREY vocalist/guitarist Tom Englund and keyboardist Rikard Zander, filmed in Romania in April 2007, is available for viewing online at Metalhead.ro. More than 200 photos from EVERGREY's Bucharest concert have been posted online at this location.
EVERGREY's last CD, "Monday Morning Apocalypse" was recorded at Division One Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden by the experienced production team of Sanken Sandquist and Stefan Glaumann, who have previously worked with such artists as RAMMSTEIN, BON JOVI, BRITNEY SPEARS and DEF LEPPARD.
EVERGREY will perform at the Barby in Tel Aviv, Israel on December 1, 2007.
